Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. She is the owner and director of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss, a Californian native, grew up with an extremely wealthy family background. The father of her Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the proprietor of the Lakers and other sports businesses. Her parents parted ways in 1972, which caused her to feel emotionally left behind. As she turned 19 old, she joined the family's business, serving as general manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. Her first role was vice-president of the Lakers prior to taking over the position of president of the Great Western Forum. Buss was the father of her deceased father in 2013, as did the Lakers were acquired by her and five of her siblings via the trust. Each of the siblings had equally many votes.
